Work forces number two to step down

EVO-STIK Northern Premier League Spennymoor Town have announced that assistant manager Gavin Fell has left the club.

In a statement released by the First Division North's Moors on Tuesday, officials said he'd stood down at The Brewery Field by 'mutual consent' because of the increasing pressure of his work commitments.

Manager Jason Ainsley said: "Gavin Fell has left the club. Gavin's work commitments were having an impact on being present at mid-week games. Gavin offered to leave the club a couple of weeks back, and since then we have had a number of conversations.

"Both parties have agreed that presence at all games is critical as we push for our ultimate aim of gaining promotion, no more so than Gavin himself. We would like to thank Gavin for all his hard work and efforts. He has been part of some great memories over the last few years."

Fell said: "I would like to thank Brad, Jason all the lads, the fans and everyone connected with Spennymoor Town FC and wish all of them every success for the remainder of the season."
