Xmas collection is up and running

Halesowen Town are supporting the Black Country Foodbank's Christmas appeal for the third year running.

After kicking off their efforts on Saturday when fans were asked to bring donations along to their 3-1 win over Whitby Town, pictured, the Yeltz are looking forward to another big collection next weekend when they host Nantwich Town at The Grove in the EVO-STIK League's Premier Division.

According to proud club officials, the most sought after donations for the charity are UHT milk, fruit juices, hot chocolate, tinned fruit, small boxes of washing powder and nappies.

A spokesman said: "This is the third year running that we are asking supporters to bring along food items that can help people in our community in most need during Christmas."

Like others across the UK, the Black Country Foodbank helps individuals and families in crisis with three days of emergency supplies to give them a vital breathing space at a time of greatest need.
