Yellows boss makes first move

Hucknall Town

New Hucknall Town manager Gary Sucharewycz has brought former fans' favourite Alistair Asher back to the club from Evo-Stik NPL First Division South rivals and neighbours Carlton Town for a third spell.

Asher will also take on the role of player-coach after Sucharewycz made his first signing on Wednesday since taking over last week from the departed Brett Marshall.

The defender started his career with Mansfield Town where he made eighty-seven Football League appearances. He joined Hucknall for the first time in 2003 and played in the 2005 FA Trophy final after switiching from Halifax.

He moved on to Ilkeston Town before re-joining Hucknall for a second time in 2006. Asher then switched to Eastwood Town where he was a member of their NPL championship-winning side before joining Worksop Town at the start of the 2009-10 season.

A move to Grantham Town followed and he made close on 100 appearances for the Gingerbreads before signing for Carlton last season.
