Woods scored six goals in 12 appearances for the Yellows earlier this season during a successful loan spell.
The 25-year-old has signed on a deal until the end of the 2023/24 season and goes straight into contention ahead of Saturday's trip to Radcliffe.
Manager Mark Beesley said: “It’s one we’ve been trying to work on for a long time since he came on loan.
“It’s taken time but thankfully Southport have allowed us to bring him in.
“Everyone knows the quality he’s got so it’s a massive boost for everybody going into the last few games of the season.
“With him being with us for just over two months, he knows everyone and the players are made up with the news.
“It’s given everyone a lift and I want to say a massive thank you to the chairman and everyone who helped get the deal done.
“Hopefully he can pick straight back up where he left off.”
His last game for the Yellows was in the 3-2 win over South Shields back in November - which was coincidentally the first game in the club’s current 16-game unbeaten run.
Woods scored in the league wins over Liversedge, Lancaster City and Matlock Town, as well as bagging a brace against South Shields in the FA Trophy.
Warrington Town chairman Toby Macormac added: “We’re delighted to bring Connor back to the club.
"We can tell from meeting with him how enthusiastic he is about being back around the squad and committed to the challenge ahead of us."
