Yellows trio take temporary charge

Hucknall Town coaches Tony Crook and Jody Cauldwell are taking charge of Saturday's Evo-Stik NPL First Division South clash at home to Mickleover Sports following the midweek resignation of manager Brett Marshall.

Club physio Dave Lester is also joining the pair in the dugout after the Yellows appointed the trio as caretaker managers.

The hunt is now underway to replace Marshall and his assistant Graham Walker who quit Watnall Road after Tuesday's 2-0 reverse at Belper Town's Christchurch Road left the Yellows rock bottom of Evo-Stik NPL First Division South with nine points from 14 games.

Hucknall Chairman Derek Blow said the club was keeping an open mind on replacements and revealed that he'd already received a number of enquiries from interested managers before appointing the temporary management team.

He said: "At the moment we haven't anybody in mind to replace Brett but we have had a number of enquiries already. We are rock bottom but there are 28 games to go and whoever comes in will have the job of moving us up the league."

Marshall switched to the Evo-Stik NPL in May after guiding Retford United to the Northern Counties East League championship in his first season at Cannon Park. They were denied promotion and he walked away to take over at Watnall Road.
