Young prospect Prosper Keto commits to Gainsborough

Gainsborough Trinity have announced the signing of young full-back Prosper Keto.

The 19-year-old Keto had been impressing at Clifton FC before making the move to Gainsborough.

The full-back featured in the Holy Blues' 2-1 victory against Boston United in the semi-final of the Lincolnshire Senior Cup.

Alongside football, Keto is studying criminology at Nottingham Trent University, and is looking forward to playing under Tom Shaw's team stating: "I’m happy to join such a club and looking forward to developing with the quality of players around me."

Speaking on his new signing, Tom Shaw is excited to feature the young prospect in more match-day squads, after being impressed with his energetic performance on Tuesday night: "Prosper has some outstanding athletic attributes and plays with huge heart and desire.

"He has worked hard to earn this opportunity and after showing everybody what he is capable of last Tuesday night against Boston United, I am confident he can strengthen our squad for the forthcoming fixtures."

Shaw also expresses that Keto's long-term development could see him play all across the park: "He can play in a number of positions and I think he has potential to be a top player in the future if he continues his upward curve of development."

Keto will link up with the squad for Gainsborough's upcoming fixtures against Lancaster City this weekend and Matlock the following weekend.
