Youth leads the way at United

FC United of Manchester

FC United of Manchester's annual efforts to recruit their next generation of fans kicks off on Saturday with Youth United Day.

As in previous seasons, the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League club are offering free entry to Under 18s and students for their home game against Worksop at Gigg Lane.

The Premier Division outfit's event offers youth groups, schools, colleges and sports clubs, whether they are involved in football or not, the opportunity to promote themselves at the ground and get involved in a range of activities from 12 noon ahead of the 3pm kick off.

FC United are expecting hundreds of young people from across Greater Manchester to get involved again. Activities will include a parade of youth achievement around the pitch, dance and drama workshops, street football, banner and flag making, a climbing wall, face painting and badge making. Young supporters will also get a chance to have their photos taken with FCUM's stars and get their autographs before the clash.

Groups hoping to sign up to Youth United Day should contact the club by email at youthunitedday@fc-utd.co.uk or phone Vinny Thompson, Youth United Day committee member, on 07792 833086. Alternatively, contact the FC United office on 0161 273 8950.
