Atherton Collieries strengthen defence

Atherton Collieries have bolstered their backline with the signing of Radcliffe defender Jack Evans.

Evans, 21, was a near ever-present for Radcliffe last season, making 38 appearances for the club. He operated mainly at right-back but also slotted into the heart of defence at times.

He helped keep 11 clean sheets for the Boro, scored once and also featured in their Manchester Premier Cup final triumph over Wythenshawe Town.

A youth product of Accrington Stanley, the imposing defender has also represented Spanish club CD Colegio Claret whilst studying in Sevilla.

Manager David Chadwick said: “Jack is exactly what we are all about. He’s a versatile, strong & solid defender, who will work hard in whichever position he plays in.”
