Nathan Caine makes Colls switch

Atherton Collieries have brought in young Stalybridge Celtic forward Nathan Caine.

The 20-year-old striker made his breakthrough into football as a product of the Mansfield Town academy, where he was highly rated under the tutelage of Richard Cooper & Nigel Clough, making three first team appearances and scoring one goal.

Whilst on professional terms with the Stags, Nathan also represented Sutton Coldfield, Ilkeston Town & Nuneaton Borough on loan deals before signing a permanent deal for Stafford Rangers in the summer of 2022.

He subsequently moved to Stalybridge midway through last season and made 13 appearances in all competition during his time at Bower Fold.

Colls manager David Chadwick said: “Nathan is someone I’ve seen on a number of occasions over the last year or so and he’s always impressed me.

"He’s quick and direct, and will hopefully be a good addition to the squad.”
