Bailey is back where he belongs

Ben Bailey was expected to make his second Hednesford Town debut tonight (Tuesday) after the popular defender returned to the EVO-STIK League's Pitmen.

Bailey is pictured in the Pitmen's new kit for the upcoming 2017-18 EVO-STIK League Premier Division season at Keys Park on Monday after leaving just over 12 months ago in order to stay in National League North with AFC Telford United.

The popular centre-half previously spent ten years at the club, playing a total of 335 times for the Pitmen after breaking into the first team squad during the 2007-08 campaign.

Pitmen first team coach Kris Taylor thanked the Bucks in a club statement for allowing manager Neil Tooth to bring Bailey back on board.

Taylor said: “We’re absolutely delighted to be able to bring Ben Bailey back to the football club. He is very much a clubman and a Hednesford Town stalwart with all years and games that he played here during his first spell.

“Obviously ‘Bails’ is also someone that we know and he is very much a fans favourite, so as soon as we heard that he may be available we moved as quickly as possible. Thanks also to AFC Telford United for their part in helping to make this move happen so smoothly.”
