Discount sparks season ticket surge

Marine manager Tommy Lawson can bank on some big home crowds backing his side next season after a surge in sales of season tickets for the 2017-18 EVO-STIK League campaign.

Delighted officials at The Marine Travel Arena are reporting a 26 per cent rise in sales after the reintroduction of the club's 'early bird' discount offer proved to be a massive hit with fans before closing at the end of June.

With the big kick-off to the new season around the corner on Saturday 12 August, season passes are continuing to be snapped up by fans across Merseyside with the club charging £170 for adults, £100 for concessions, £80 for students and £20 for juniors aged 11 to 16. As in previous seasons, accompanied children aged 11 and under are set to be admitted to league games for free again.

Marine chairman Paul Leary said: “We are really pleased with the uptake of our early bird season ticket offer that took place in May and June. To receive more than 25 per cent more in season ticket applications and renewals is really great news for our football club.

"Our season ticket prices, working out as little as £7 per game for adults and £5 for concessions and less than £1 for children aged over 11, provides affordable family friendly football at its very best."

He added: "There is certainly an increase in support taking place here at Marine and I have no doubt that more Merseyside football fans will be watching us on a regular basis this coming season, which is fantastic news for everyone at the Marine Travel Arena.”
