Belper Town snap up midfield duo

Belper Town have announced the signing of midfield duo Alex Troke and James Cadman.

Troke helped keep Carlton Town in the Pitching In NPL East Division last season.

He previously featured for Ilkeston and Coalville Town, and has won multiple promotions from Step 4 during his time in the game.

"We've brought in some really good players, characters, footballers," Troke said.

"It's a really good group of lads here, and what you see at the club with the infrastructure, it's a club that wants to be on the rise.

"For me, having that experience of winning the league and a couple of play-off wins benefits the team, and hopefully we can do that this season."

Joining Troke at the Nailers is former Ossett United midfielder Cadman.

He made seven appearances for the club in the NPL East Division last season as they finished 15th.

"It's the old cliche, the Manchester United squad in 1999 - they had a bit of a mix. You do need that experience, and I've got quite a lot at this level," Cadman said.

"The gaffer is building a side that has a mix of youth plus experience, and we'll combine that to look to push and go straight back up."

The Nailers have also announced that Curtis Burrows will remain at the club as they plot an immediate return to the Northern Premier League following their relegation last season.
