Leek Town

Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Leek Town announced on Friday that they'd pulled off a major coup by signing former Derby striker Lee Morris.

Morris, pictured, began his career on the books of Sheffield United before moving to Derby in a £3million deal. Weather permitting, he could play a part in Leek's Evo-Stik NPL First Division South clash at Harrison Park against Belper Town on Saturday as a replacement for the departed Matt Haddrell.

In a statement on their official website, the Blues revealed that goalkeeping coach Jason McGuire had helped orchestrate the move which was sealed on Thursday night by Blues manager Lee Casswell who travelled to Derby County where Morris is working as a youth coach.

After Derby, the former England Under 21 international enjoyed spells at Leicester City, Yeovil Town and Burton Albion before moving into Non-League with Kidderminster Harriers, Solihull Moors and most recently Eastwood Town where he was a player-coach.
