Business minded physio wanted

EVO-STIK League Bamber Bridge are advertising for a new club physio and sports rehabilitator to go in to partnership with.

The duties of the successful candidate for the vacant post at Irongate will include attending all first-team matches and twice-weekly training sessions to provide medical treatment and support the rehabilitation of players, including the development and monitoring of individual plans.

Additional hours outside of matchdays and training sessions may also be required by the EVO-STIK League club subject to the requirements of manager Neil Reynolds and his first team squad. A full driving licence and access to a vehicle is also a requirement.

Club officials expect the successful candidate to have a degree-level qualification in sports therapy, sports rehabilitation and/or physiotherapy. Previous experience of working in football would be advantageous not but essential as applications are invited from both newly-qualified and experienced professionals.

Spokeswoman Ruth Hornby said: "The post forms part of the club’s coaching staff and therefore the successful candidate will be a strong team-player with excellent interpersonal skills.

"As part of the package, the club will provide the successful candidate 24/7 access to the club’s dedicated treatment room and are particularly interested in hearing from candidates who would like to develop their own private sports rehabilitation/physiotherapy practice alongside working with the club."

The EVO-STIK League North club's director of football Neil Crowe called the role a "great opportunity" to work on a part-time basis and gain invaluable experience in Non-League while launching a new practice in Sunday's statement.

The former Brig boss Crowe, pictured, said: "This is a great opportunity for a sports rehabilitator/physiotherapist who is looking to work with a semi-professional football club. The excellent facilities we can offer at Bamber Bridge will also enable them to develop their own private practice at a dedicated facility.”

The closing date for potential candidates is 5pm on Friday 10 November. CVs and covering letters should be emailed to Crowe at ndcrowe@yahoo.com and include 'BBFC Vacancy' in the subject line.
