Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Buxton believe their community work is going from strength to strength after their latest half-term football camp for youngsters.

Officials from the Premier Division outfit's Bucks in the Community scheme say they're now planning a series of summer camps, after school coaching sessions and a Saturday morning soccer school after more than 30 children from Buxton and the surrounding areas, pictured, attended their now annual event last week.

Organised with the club's community partners - Chris Hill Community Sports - the camp took place at Harpur Hill Primary School. Activities included youngsters learning new football skills and techniques, playing street soccer and taking part in a version of Soccer AM's famous crossbar challenge. The camp culminated in hotly contested competition day on Friday with the youngsters competing for the chance to be a matchday mascot on Fathers Day at Silverlands when Buxton are taking on a Manchester United XI.

Bucks Community Coach Chris Hill said: "It has been again been great success and is going from strength to strength. All the children have been excellent and enjoyed every minute. Credit must also go to the coaches from the University of Derby, everyone at the football club and Harpur Hill Primary School for providing such excellent facilities.

"It was great again to see our club as a focal point of the community and to introduce Buxton to its next generation of supporters ahead of the 2013-14 season.

* Buxton manager Martin Mcintosh will guest of honour at the two summer camps running at Silverlands this summer. For more information on the camps which kick off on August 5 and August 19, contact the club's community staff on 07970 634994.
