Corby shore up attacking options

Corby Town have announced the acquisition of Jordan Macleod.

Macleod scored 14 goals in his first season for Peterborough Sports, before moving to the USA in 2018.

A year later, Macleod returned to the UK to sign for Deeping Rangers FC, scoring 20 goals in 16 appearances.

Macleod featured heavily for Northern Premier League East Division side Spalding United where he bagged himself 19 goals for the Tulips.

He most recently rejoined Peterborough Sports, securing the winner in the cup final against AFC Rushden & Diamonds.

"I'm chuffed we've managed to get Jordan in from Peterborough Sports," stated Corby Town manager Lee Attenborough.

"I said when I took this job that a club like Corby should be attracting some of the best players in the division and I believe in Jordan, we have that.

"He scored 19 goals for Spalding last season and also scored important goals later in the season after his move to PSL including the winner in the Cup Final against Rushden and Diamonds."

"Having said that, his game is about much more than goals. He's tricky, can go both ways and is good with both feet. He's quick, got good energy and attacks spaces well, never giving defenders a minute," Attenborough added.

"He will give us good options on the ball but aggression off it which is exactly what you need to have in this league."
