Buxton defender Ash Palmer will be playing at Silverlands in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League next season after agreeing a new deal with manager Martin McIntosh.

The Premier Division’s Bucks announced on Saturday that the 21-year-old has given McIntosh’s squad building plans a further boost after making 49 appearances last term.

Palmer, who signed for the Bucks in March 2013 after trialling in the summer of 2011, spent his formative years with Barnsley and then Scunthorpe where he captained the youth team.

Following loan spells at Southport and Harrogate Town, he was released from Scunthorpe in the summer of 2012 and spent the following season at Hinckley United and then Droylsden before joining the Bucks ahead of the transfer deadline.

* The Bucks have announced that they are holding their annual golf day at High Peak Golf Club's course on Friday 8 August.

Teams of four are being invited to enter the event with entry price at £30. For more information visit the club's website.
