Devine adds to feelgood factor

By David Watters

Colwyn Bay boss Alan Morgan has sealed his first signing of the summer and persuaded eleven of last season's squad to commit to the 2018-19 EVO-STIK League campaign.

Morgan snapped up midfielder Ethan Devine, pictured, from newly promoted Tranmere Rovers on Monday after the 18-year-old midfielder reportedly turned down a professional contract to pursue his career elsewhere.

A product of the academy system at Prenton Park who was attracting interest from six other clubs for his signature, Devine joins a settled Seagulls squad after the majority committed to the upcoming campaign at Llanelian Road over the weekend.

Supporters’ Player of the Year and goalkeeper Matt Cooper is reported to have resisted overtures from elsewhere to sign. Others who'll be returning for pre-season training on June 6 include defenders Kyle Jacobs and Gaz Grant, Lass Mendes, Louis Barnes and talented midfielder Tom McCready.
