Albans, pictured, and his number two Hallcro were relieved of their duties at the Nailers on Sunday afternoon following Saturday's 4-2 defeat at bottom of the table Tividale, the latest reverse in a run of six defeats in their past seven outings.
Having been relegated from the EVO-STIK NPL's top flight last season, the defeat left the First Division South club struggling in 18th spot under the guidance of former Grantham Town boss Albans who was appointed in December 2014. Hallcro, his former partner at the Gingerbreads for four seasons before the pair briefly separated, arrived at Christchurch Meadow two months later.
In a statement announcing the duo's departure, officials said senior professionals Phil Watt and Dan Haystead had agreed to take on caretaker management roles after setting a deadline of Tuesday 6 October for potential candidates to apply for their vacant managerial position.
Belper Town chairman Alan Benfield said: “It’s a shame that things haven’t worked out for Jim and Wayne but a record of only six wins out of the last 33 games, speaks for itself.
“The board have fully backed them despite relegation at the end of last season and had hoped that we would be challenging for honours this time rather than wallowing in the relegation areas."
Applications for the position, incorporating personal CVs, should be submitted to the club by email to info@belpertownfc.co.uk.
