Evo-Stik Northern Premier League

Trafford manager Garry Vaughan is crediting the skills of first team coach Wayne Goodison and his hard-working squad for winning December's Evo-Stik Northern Premier League First Division North Manager of the Month Award.

The North Manager picked up his second managerial accolade of the campaign at Shawe View on Saturday before his side's 2-0 win over Mossley. Vaughan was named as the division's top boss after his side ended 2012 in third place in First Division North following an unbeaten run that also saw them reach the Third Round of the Doodson Sport Cup.

Vaughan, whose side also won December's Jungledrum Fair Play Award and is pictured being presented with his award by Evo-Stik NPL Vice President and FA Respect Manager Phil Bradley, said: "Wayne has been key to everything and the players have worked very hard. Since preseason and in training every week Wayne works with them on our system, walks them through it every time and it has really paid off for me and the club."

Apart from their 3-0 Doodson Sport Cup defeat at Premier Division Marine on Tuesday when he admits playing an understrength side, Vaughan has also avoided the dreaded 'Manager of the Month' curse.

On Thursday he heaped praise on his players for sticking with their winning attitudes and avoiding a dip in form, adding: "I am lucky enough to have a fantastic bunch of lads and to have been able to keep 17 of my squad from last season too. It is all down to teamwork and the lads. They are bouncing in the dressing room with confidence. The banter is a different class and they take it out of the pitch in their performances."

December's other divisional awards went to Worksop Town's Simon Clark who was named as the Evo-Stik NPL Premier Division's top boss and Sutton Coldfield Town's Neil Tooth who took the Evo-Stik First Division South accolade.[/b]

Tigers managers Clark was presented with his gong before his side's Doodson Sport Cup win over Frickley Athletic last week. Royals manager Tooth is due to collect his at Coles Lane on Saturday before his side take on Brigg Town.

The winning managers are presented with an inscribed certificate marking their achievement along with personalised items from the Errea benchwear range by representatives of the league and sponsors Bostik, the parent company of league title sponsors Evo-Stik.

Clark took the Premier Division's honours after leading his side to five wins from five and seeing them add 16 more goals to the club's goals scored column. Sutton Coldfield Town's manager Tooth can celebrate his first gong of the season after they won five out of five league outings in December to head into 2013 in third place.
