Martin Carruthers and his red-hot title favourites were presented with December's performance award in the EVO-STIK League's South Division by NPL representative Paul Hatt, pictured, with the title already looking like a done deal even before a 3-0 win over Peterborough Sports saw the leaders extend their advantage at the top of the table to a whopping 22 points.
After being named alongside Altrincham and Droylsden as one of the EVO-STIK League's final performance kings of 2017, United were presented with an engraved glass memento to mark their top form and a bottle of spirits to celebrate with like all winners of the monthly honours.
Carruthers and his side scooped November's award in the division and they followed that up in December with four victories and a draw to win again, a record they are only one away from equaling in January after keeping their 27 unbeaten run going with their 12th home success of the season.
