The Seagulls, who'd been targeting promotion this term after suffering two successive relegations, lost patience with Moore after his side conceded a second half equaliser at Llanelian Road to a Brig team who'd lost eight of their previous nine games.
According to Colwyn Bay chairman Dave Titchiner, their latest disappointment after failing to beat bottom eight sides Radcliffe Borough, Ossett Albion and Goole in the last eight weeks from winning positions, was the final straw.
In a statement released on Saturday night, officials at the EVO-STIK NPL First Division North club said assistant manager Phil Hadland would take charge of preparations for next Saturday's game at top eight rivals Clitheroe, ironically Moore's previous club.
Former Clitheroe, Leek Town, Kidsgrove Athletic and Warrington Town boss Moore, pictured, took charge eight months ago as the successor to Kevin Lynch. His side would have been topping the table by now but for the points they've dropped and he told fans he was disappointed to go in the statement on the club's website.
He said: "I started the season with a completely new side after the club had been relegated twice and it was very much a rebuilding process with certain goals agreed which I thought we were achieving. We brought in a great set of lads and I believe I have left the club in a far better position than when I came into it - and competing at the top end of the league.
"The lads know they are eight points shy of where they should be, but they have supported me and my backroom team all the way. We won the Fair Play League for November with the best record in the whole NPL, and are seventh position in the table only five points from top. I'm sure whoever goes in will have a great chance of going up this season."
He added: "I wish the club and everyone connected with it all the best for this season and beyond. Its a great club and I've enjoyed working for the chairman and the board."
