Frickley Athletic’s club captain Matty Bloor has signed a new contract that will keep him at the Evo-Stik NPL Premier Division Blues until at least the end of next season.
The Blues announced the new deal for the 22-year-old midfielder, pictured, who is in his second spell at Westfield Lane on Thursday.
Bloor, who started his career at North Ferriby, returned to Westfield Lane this season from Goole after skippering the Vikings in the last campaign.
Frickley manager Karl Rose says Bloor has become a vital and influential part of his team and is delighted to secure his captain on a longer term contract with the current campaign at the half way stage.
He said: "Matt has been very consistent this season and is an important player for us. He’s turned down approaches from higher placed clubs which shows he believes in what we’re doing at the club."
Bloor is looking forward to the second half of the season after settling his future. "I’m delighted to sign and commit my future to Frickley Athletic," he said. "I’m thoroughly enjoying being here. We’ve got a great set of lads and I believe we’re as good as anyone in the League on our day."
