Fans offered a lift to Diamonds day

Basford United are ferrying their fans to Saturday's 'community day' at EVO-STIK Northern Premier League rivals AFC Rushden & Diamonds.

The Greenwich Avenue outfit are laying on a coach to to take their supporters to the EVO-STIK NPL First Division South fixture after Diamonds announced fans could "pay what they want" at the turnstiles as part of their community event.

United officials say a bus is leaving Greenwich Avenue at 11.30am with a £5 charge for fans. Rushden say season tickets will still be valid for the clash as supporters of both sides are asked to donate what they like.
