EVO-STIK Northern Premier League Grantham Town are thanking their fans for donating generously to their local foodbank.

The Gingerbreads held a collection on Saturday for the Grantham Foodbank during their 1-1 Premier Division draw with Marine after asking supporters to bring along anything they could spare to the fixture for the most vulnerable members of the local community.

Three full crates worth of food were handed over in the collection which was organised by the club's social media manager Simon Hayes who is now planning for a second one when King's Lynn Town arrive for another top flight fixture on Saturday 24 January.

Pictured alongside Grantham Town chief executive office Keith Horton with one of the crates, he said: "I'd like to thank every person who donated. I am overwhelmed by the generosity of our supporters."

Brian Hanbury, project co-ordinator at the charity, added: "This will make real differences in local people lives."
