Bunn rose through Manchester City's youth ranks, featuring extensively for their reserves and U21s.
However, he was unable to make a clear breakthrough into first team action and instead enjoyed loan spells with clubs including Rochdale and Crewe Alexandra.
He has gone on to have a prosperous career thus far, having made close to 200 EFL appearances for the likes of Bury FC, Southend United, Huddersfield Town and more recently Scunthorpe United.
The 30-year-old made 20 appearances for the Iron in League Two last season and bagged one goal in the process.
During the 2022/23 campaign, he has featured 24 times for Buxton in the National League North.
On his arrival, Robins boss Steve Cunningham said: "What a coup for the football club. Harry is a local lad who lives very close to the ground [and] his footballing career speaks for itself.
"I am delighted to get Harry on board, and it shows how exciting the Ashton United project is when attracting this calibre of player to the club.”
