Hawkins is back for second stint

Hartlepool United midfielder Lewis Hawkins went straight back into Spennymoor Town's squad for their clash with Ossett Albion on Tuesday night after returning for a second loan spell in the EVO-STIK Northern Premier League.

Hawkins, pictured, returned to Brewery Field on a three month loan deal from Victoria Park after starring for the Moors in First Division North earlier in the season. The 22-year-old League Two star is likely to appear alongside another new face and loan signing in the coming weeks, Priestley Keithley from Bishop Auckland.

Moors manager Jason Ainsley told the club's website: "Lewis made a massive impact in his first spell with us, so much so that when he went back to Hartlepool he went straight into their first team, and I hope he does the same this time round. I'd like to thank Ronnie Moore, Sam Collins and Hartlepool United for their help in making this happen.

"We have also agreed to dual register Priestley Keithley with EBAC Northern League First Division side Bishop Auckland FC so he can get valuable minutes under his belt. Priestley is a very talented young player who will play a big part for us this season so it makes sense that he is getting competitive football in the meantime."

Town's FA Vase winning midfielder Lewis Dodds has also been thanked by Ainsley after agreeing to leave the Moors. Dodds was transfer listed at the weekend following talks with Ainsley who added: "After lengthy conversations with Lewis he feels he needs a fresh challenge as he has become stale.

"I would like to thank Lewis for being a fantastic servant to the club over a number of years and wish him well at his future club."
