Injury crisis worsens at Matlock Town

Matlock Town’s injury struggles have deepened ahead of Saturday’s home clash with Guiseley.

Karl Demidh (ankle), goalkeeper Saul Deeney (knee) and Ryan Qualter (groin) are all doubtful to feature against the Lions.

They join Brad Abbott (broken leg) and Jordan Barnett (suspension) on the sidelines ahead of the weekend's action.

Demidh had scored in consecutive matches for the Gladiators, while Barnett has netted five goals this season - bettered only by team-mate Alex Wiles' who has scored six times in 2022/23.

Deeney, meanwhile, only arrived from Ilkeston Town earlier this month.

Martin Carruthers’ side could climb into the play-off places with a victory on Saturday, although they would be reliant on Bamber Bridge losing at home to Morpeth Town.
