EVO-STIK League Secretary Angie Firth will be needing her ‘dancing ears’ headband for the second year running on Saturday night when she sets off on a midnight sponsored walk!
The Northern Premier League official is teaming up with her husband Clive and nephew Jack Kenton to complete the 13 mile Midnight Walk in aid of the Overgate Hospice in West Yorkshire.
The flashing headbands of more than 1,000 walkers lit up the night sky last September with the Firths completing the annual fundraising walk in 4 hours 15 minutes. The couple’s nephew is joining them this year after the work of the hospice sadly touched the 15-year-old personally, his mum’s best friend passing away while being cared for by the charity.
Based in Elland, the hospice needs to raise the £6900 it needs every day to remain open through the community and the EVO-STIK League’s fans, players and officials can sponsor their efforts this year via an online donation page at: www.justgiving.com/Angie-Jack.
