League stars dominate representative squad

Evo-Stik Northern Premier League

The Evo-Stik Northern Premier League’s players are set to dominate the FA Representative team taking on the Northern League next Tuesday night to celebrate the competition’s 125th anniversary.

Apart from three Harrogate Town players, the rest of the squad called up by England C manager Paul Fairclough to play a Northern League XI at Bishop Auckland FC are from the Evo-Stik NPL.

Blyth Spartans and Whitby Town are the best represented clubs in the 16-man squads with four players each followed by Darlington with three and Frickley Athletic with two.

The Northern League, which includes Bishop Auckland, Spennymoor Town, Whitley Bay and West Auckland, is the second-oldest league in world football, covering the North East and Cumbria as a feeder to the Evo-Stik NPL.

Kick off at Heritage Park is 7.30pm.
