The Hednesford Town Football Club Supporters Association are urging fans to put their names down and get their teams together for the Pitmen's annual quiz in the New Year, writes Chris Brewerton.

The HTFCSA are staging the fundraising event on Saturday 5 January after their Evo-Stik NPL Premier Division clash with Chorley at Keys Park.

Scott Smith, Joint-Chairman of the SA, is encouraging members to show their support for the club after the success of last year's quiz in raising significant funds for charity and the fans' group.

He said: "Over £220 was raised at the previous quiz in March with £150 of the money donated to the Stafford Hospital Chemotherapy Unit. A raffle also raised £70 for the Supporters Association funds so we hope to see another great turn out in the New Year."

The quiz, compared by Pitmen Prize Draw organiser Keith Harley, will pit teams of no more than five against each other with fantastic prizes available for the winners.

Doors for the event, held in the Chase Suite at Keys Park, open from 6.30pm with the quiz kicking off at 7pm. Entrance is £2 per person.

* The winners of Hednesford's bumper Christmas Pitmen Prize Draw were announced after Hednesford's home fixture versus FC United of Manchester.
