Love Island winner makes return to football

Reality TV star Tom Clare will make his return to football after re-joining former club Macclesfield.

Clare recently returned from his second stint on ITV reality dating show Love Island, having won the 11th series of the show - which saw familiar faces from previous years return to the villa - alongside Molly Smith last month.

The former Barnsley and Bradford City forward took part in the ITV show for the first time last year, before making the decision to leave the club in May 2023 in order to purse opportunities off the pitch.

Clare had netted eight goals in 20 appearances for the Silkmen during the 2022/23 campaign before his departure, and will now return to the Leasing.com Stadium to try and bolster the club's promotion hopes.

Michael Clegg's side find themselves occupying the final Northern Premier League play-off spot and have also reached the quarter-finals of the FA Trophy.

They host Southern Central League side Coalville Town in the last eight of the competition this Saturday before returning to league action away at fellow promotion hopefuls Worksop Town on March 16.
