Macclesfield defender extends Clitheroe stay

Clitheroe have confirmed that Jacob Hanson will remain at the club until the end of the season from parent club Macclesfield.

The 23-year-old full-back initially joined the Blues in February and has since made six appearances, scoring one goal in a 2-1 victory over Mossley.

A former Bradford player, Hanson has previously featured for Halifax Town, Curzon Ashton, and FC United.

Clitheroe currently sit in fourth place in the NPL West Division, and manager David Dempsey is hoping that the young defender can help them to secure a play-off spot.

"Hanson brings strength and stability to the squad, and its great news that he will be staying with us for the rest of the season, and also for the play offs if needed."

The Blues are next in action away at Newcastle Town on Saturday.
