Machin returns as new boss

Former Kettering Town manager Scott Machin is the new manager of EVO-STIK Northern Premier League Loughborough Dynamo.

Machin, who led the Poppies to promotion into the EVO-STIK League Southern's Premier Division as Division One Central champions in April alongside joint manager Thomas Baillie, was unveiled on Wednesday by officials at the Nanpantan Sports Ground.

Machin, pictured, succeeds former joint managers Lee Morris and Jason Maguire. Morris left two weeks ago following his promotion at Derby County to manage the Championship club's U17s side. Maguire subsequently agreed to hold the fort until a new manager was appointed. He has now left the club after taking charge for the last time on Tuesday night when Dyanmo slipped to a 3-0 home defeat at the hands of Romulus.

Dynamo's new manager will take charge for the first time on Saturday when they entertain Kidsgrove in the FA Trophy's Preliminary Round. His first league game at the helm follows a week later at Sheffield FC on Saturday October 10.

In a statement confirming the appointment, Loughborough Dynamo chairman Frank Fall thanked Maguire and welcomed Machin back to the First Division South club following a previous stint as a coach.

Fall said: "I am very pleased to welcome Scott back to Dynamo, he brings with him a wealth of experience. On behalf of all at Loughborough Dynamo I would also like to thank Jason Maguire for all he has done at Dynamo and for covering as a sole manager until Scott's appointment. We send Jason all good wishes for the future."
