Magpies mourn secretary's passing

Chorley have been rocked by sad news for the second time in a matter of days following the passing of Secretary Harold Taylor on Friday.

The Evo-Stik Northern Premier League club has already been mourning the loss of Magpies stalwart and former Treasurer Brian Haslam whose funeral service takes place next Tuesday. Meticulous in his accounting, he is widely credited with helping to save the club from ruin nearly two decades ago.

The club's late Secretary, pictured, who passed away late on Friday afternoon following a short illness, joined the Premier Division club from Leigh RMI at the same time as manager Garry Flitcroft having been involved at the Railwaymen since their earlier days as Horwich RMI.

Chorley have sent their condolences to Mr Taylor's family and say he will be sadly missed by all at Victory Park.

More details and Mr Taylor's funeral arrangments will be published when known.
