Monday's First Division North action review

By David Watters

Brighouse Town consolidated fifth place in the EVO-STIK Northern Premier League's First Division North on Monday night after beating Yorkshire rivals Farsley Celtic 2-1 at Hove Edge, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

Town took the lead after 32 minutes when a free-kick from Jimmy Pollard by the touchline drifted past everybody and into the back of the net. And three minutes later it was 2-0 when Ryan Hall beat a defender, rounded the keeper and netted to double the home side`s lead.

Farsley, who find themselves just a couple of points above the bottom two, did manage to reduce the deficit on 67 minutes through Aidan Savory, but weren`t able to find a leveller.
