Monday's Premier Division action review

By David Watters

A second half fightback by Ilkeston FC saw them take all three points at the War Memorial Ground against Stourbridge in the EVO-STIK Northern Premier League's Premier Division on Monday night, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

Stourbridge led at the break through Ben Billingham's deflected shot on 28 minutes. However, the Robins pressed from the off after the interval and levelled after 65 minutes through Danny Udoh, who fired home from close range after Michael Williams had headed down from a deep cross.

And Ilkeston netted what proved to be the winning goal with 16 minutes to go as the unmarked Dexter Atkinson stole in at the far post to blast the ball past Lewis Solly after Matt Baker had headed on a cross.

Stourbridge fought hard to salvage something from the game but their chances were limited to long range efforts off target and the Robins held on with relative comfort.

The result means that the Glassboys remain in third place in the table, while Ilkeston climb to sixth ahead of Tuesday night's fixtures.
