Ramsbottom United

Ramsbottom United have appointed a new keepers coach as they prepare to play at their highest ever level in the EVO-STIK League’s top flight.

Stockport-based John Morrey, pictured, joined the ambitious east Lancashire club this week after enjoying two successful seasons as joint-manager of NWCFL outfit Maine Road, the south Manchester based club finishing fourth and second during his reign. Prior to his stint as joint-manager at Brantingham Road, Morrey served as goal-keeping coach with the Sky Blues between 2009 and 2012.

Joint managers Anthony Johnson and Bernard Morley are delighted that Morrey decided it was time to move on to join their management team. Married with two boys, he enjoyed a playing career from 1986 to 2004 that included spells at Maine Road, Clitheroe and Great Harwood.
