Curzon Ashton have paid tribute to Secretary Robert Hurst after announcing on Monday that the administrator was stepping down after more than two decades at the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League club.

Hurst is leaving at the end of the current First Division North campaign after 21 years of service and the club's officials are now inviting applications to fill the key post at the Tameside Stadium.

After announcing his departure, the Nash paid Hurst a warm tribute. A spokesman said: "Rob Hurst has decided to step down from his role as Secretary of Curzon Ashton FC at the end of this season after twenty one years with the club during which time he has provided an invaluable contribution to the success and development of Curzon Ashton FC.

"Not only has Rob been a highly efficient secretary but he has been very active in the off field activities required to run the stadium complex. He will be sorely missed by all his friends at the club and we wish him all the success in whatever he undertakes in the future."

Applications, including a CV, should be sent to Curzon Ashton Chairman Harry Galloway at the club or via email to: harrygall48@hotmail.co.uk.
