New arrivals can do the business

EVO-STIK Northern Premier League Marine say they have made two key appointments to take the club to the next level commercially.

The Mariners announced on Wednesday that they were strengthening their commercial team at The Marine Travel Arena with the appointments of Nick Gordon and Alan Kayll.

Gordon, the Crosby-based club’s new commercial manager, joins with a marketing background and extensive experience of commercial partnerships and fundraising through his links with Arriva and Hightown St. Mary’s Cricket Club.

In a statement announcing his appointment, the Mariners said his main role will be to develop key long term partnerships with sponsors and to establish new income streams for Liverpool's number one Non-League club.

Kayall arrives to assist the club in a commercial fundraising role. As well as a background in sales, he has strong links with Liverpool FC and local businesses. His focus will be on expanding the club’s matchday sponsorships, ground advertising, sporting dinners, golf days and other events.

Marine vice-chairman Dave McMillan said: “It’s been clear to us for some time that our commercial operations needed strengthening with people who have the appropriate skills but also have an affinity for Marine.

"Nick and Alan both impressed us greatly with their ideas for how they would take on their roles, and I’m confident that they will assist us in taking us to the next level from a commercial viewpoint."

He added: "Equally importantly, they’re both great guys who do have a real affinity for the Mariners. We would like to welcome both Nick and Alan to Marine and wish them every success in their new roles."
