The NPLFA student player suffered a heart attack ten days ago while on holiday with his family and passed away on Tuesday night in hospital in Turkey.
A second year student at EVO-STIK Northern Premier League Leek Town's academy, the 17-year-old, pictured, had been in a critical condition in hospital after suffering multiple cardiac arrests.
A club spokesman said: "Leek Town Football Club has received the extremely sad news that our Academy player Jordan Burndred has lost his fight for life.
"Everyone at the club sends their deepest sympathies and condolences to Jordan's family and friends at this tragic time. Rest in peace Jordan."
NPLFA director Darren Royle said: "We heard this news with great sadness and our thoughts at this time are with Jordan's family."
A fundraising campaign raised thousands of pounds last week to enable the teenager's family to stay by his bedside in hospital before his passing. The NPLFA backed those efforts and on Wednesday students playing in the NPLFA Youth League's Wednesday afternoon fixtures held a minute's silence in his memory.
Jordan's mother, Nicola Everill, broke the news through social media and thanked everyone for their support. She said the family was devastated and that theirs hearts had been broken.
