Number two follows Morris to Blues

James Kay has returned to EVO-STIK Northern Premier League Frickley Athletic as number two to new manager Lee Morris.

The former assistant manager at Goole was named by the Blues on Wednesday after following Morris from the EVO-STIK NPL First Division North's Vikings.

The 26-year-old, pictured, kicked off his career as a trainee at Sheffield Wednesday before going on to play for Sutton Town, Guiseley, Mansfield Town, Goole and Maltby Main.

He is no stranger to Westfield Lane having enjoyed previous spells at the EVO-STIK NPL Premier Division club, firstly under Peter Rinkavage and later under Karl Rose.

Veteran striker Morris, 33, stood down at Goole to succeed Rose after the former Blues boss became the first managerial casualty of the 2016-17 EVO-STIK NPL campaign last week after seeing his side suffer their fifth straight defeat of the season.
