Anderson, who left the Easybuy Stadium in the summer after six successful seasons in charge of the Northern Counties East League outfit, was appointed on Monday after being interviewed on Sunday for the post left vacant by the departure of Morris for Frickley Athletic.
In a club statement naming Mally Parker as his number two, the Vikings said they were "delighted" to appoint Anderson, pictured, who played for them in two spells in the 1980s and 1990s under former manager Mickey Bullock and then Tim Hotte.
Anderson, who kicked off his playing career at Hull City before spells with North Ferriby, Goole Town, Winterton and Barton Town, moved into management at Westella and won promotion to the NCEL's top flight in his first full season at the helm of Barton.
Anderson and his assistant manager from The Swans take charge of their first game on Saturday at Colwyn Bay in EVO-STIK NPL First Division North and the Vikings say the pair are looking forward to the challenge of lifting the club off the bottom of the table with only a single point on the board so far.
A spokesman said: "Dave will be assisted by Mally Parker and both are keen to get started and are looking forward to meeting the squad ahead of training later this week before their first game in charge at Colwyn Bay on Saturday."
Morris, 33, was appointed in February after leaving EVO-STIK NPL First Division South Shaw Lane to succeed Alan Semley. He stood down on Friday to succeed Rose at the Blues after he became the first managerial casualty of the 2016-17 EVO-STIK NPL campaign last week.
