Kendal Town are organising a professional darts competition fit for PDC World Darts Champion Phil Taylor.

As part of of the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League club's 2013 fundraising campaign, the Mintcakes are taking over Kendal Town Hall to build a competition standard stage to recreate the atmosphere of televised darts in Cumbria.

The Evo-Stik NPL Premier Division club's Chairman Haydon Munslow announced on Tuesday that they've secured the services of TV darts stars Colin ‘Jaws’ Lloyd and Dave 'Chizzy' Chisnall to play exhibition and challenge matches, with the action on Friday 1 March supervised and judged by top professional referee Russ Bray.

Local darts teams are now being invited to purchase ten tickets to the event. In return, Kendal say they can choose a representative or hold their own tournaments to find a winner to take on professionals Lloyd and Chisnall.

Tickets are priced at £10 and are available from Ladbrokes, the event's main sponsor, near the Town Hall, the Ring O’Bells pub in Kirkland and from the club's committee. A limited number of VIP tickets are also available at £30. They include food, balcony seating and meeting up with Colin Lloyd, Dave Chisnall and Russ Bray before the event.

A bar selling local speciality draft Winster Valley Brewery beers will also be open for supporters throughout the night.
