Ravens swoop for Piggon

Coalville Town

Coalville Town manager Adam Stevens has swooped to bring prolific striker Mitchell Piggon into the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League from Bedworth United.

Stevens opened his summer business on Wednesday by signing the 22-year-old who's been spear-heading United's strike force for the last two campaigns.

In his first season at Bedworth he formed a lethal partnership with former Ravens hot-shot Matt Gardner, scoring 20 goals to help the Greenbacks win promotion to the Southern Premier.

The highly-rated forward, who has been tipped for a move into the professional game by former manager Steve Farmer, started out at Heather St John's before moving on to Nuneaton Griff and then Bedworth.

As Stevens revamps his squad for another assault on the NPL First Division South championship, his seventh at the Millers, he looks set to lose Josh Hill with Pitchero's main website reporting that the defender has started pre-season with the Premier Division's side Worksop Town.

Hill joined Coalville last summer and marked an excellent debut season by collecting both the Supporters' Player of the Year and Manager's Player of the Year accolades.
