Reed predicts big role for released striker

Ossett Town manager John Reed believes striker Nathan Curtis could play a key role for the EVO-STIK League club next season following his recent release by Bradford City.

The 18-year-old, pictured, made his Bantams` first-team debut in an FA Cup tie in December 2012 and has joined Reed's First Division North squad after impressing in pre-season.

Reed said: "I am delighted to get Nathan in the squad. He is a player I watched a number of times last season and he will be a valuable asset to this club."

Reed, who recently appointed Dave Merris as player-coach, has also re-signed a number of last season`s squad including goalkeeper Sam Dobbs, defenders Steven Jeff, Nick Wood, Brad Kilburn and Lewis Akeister, midfielders Richard Patterson and Chris Ovington and forward Chris Wood.

Reed added: "I am delighted so many players have been so keen to return, and there are more from last season who I know will be coming over the coming days and signing on that dotted line.

"I know the size of squad I am looking at having, and have a number of players in mind that I will take a look at over the coming weeks. There will be more players added to the list, you can be assured of that."
