Rylands recruitment drive continues

Warrington Rylands have announced a raft of new signings ahead of the 2023/24 season.

Forward Scott Bakkor has returned to his previous club, having ended the last campaign with Rylands' Northern Premier League rivals Guiseley.

Former Warrington Town duo Matty Regan and Ben Hough, who made a combined 69 appearances for Ashton United last season, have also made the move to Gorsey Lane.

They'll be joined by forward Joe Piggott and defender Javid Swaby Neavin, who made 34 appearances in 2022/23 for a Hyde United side that agonisingly missed out on a play-off spot on the final day of the season.

The latest raft of additions are another statement of intent for Rylands, who are keen to build upon last season's top-10 finish under the guidance of manager Michael Clegg, who was only appointed to the role in February.

Goalkeeper Luke Pilling, who ended the season at the Blues having made the switch from AFC Telford United in January, has also agreed new terms with the club ahead of the upcoming campaign.

Pilling will be joined by South African midfielder Dean Furman, who has committed himself to the club after making 41 appearances in Rylands colours last term.
