Ali Brown scored the Wire`s all-important goal with 20 minutes remaining and it was needed with Glossop North End showing no signs of dropping out of the title race.
They edged out Prescot Cables 2-1 at home with goals from the prolific Jamie Rainford on the half-hour mark and Tom Bailey 17 minutes from time – all after Lloyd Dean had given Cables a seventh minute lead.
Northwich Victoria, who were in FA Cup action on Friday night, Spennymoor Town and Clitheroe complete the top five.
Moors eased to a 4-1 success at Stainton Park against Radcliffe Borough, taking a 24th minute lead through Nathan Fisher.
Steve Foster levelled right on half-time and then Fisher restored Moors` lead on 69 minutes, with a late Anthony Peacock brace in the last five minutes putting the icing on the cake for the visitors.
Clitheroe saw off Mossley AFC at Shawbridge, breaking the deadlock after 65 minutes with a goal from Callum Hendry and then making sure with a second from Brandon Barski in stoppage time.
The Blues leap-frogged Brighouse Town in the table after they were held to a 1-1 draw at Station View by Harrogate Railway Athletic, whose Dan Thirkell equalised in injury-time at the end of the game after Steve Hollingworth had given the visitors the lead right on the half-time whistle.
Scarborough Athletic returned to winning ways with a 1-0 verdict at Trafford, courtesy of Steve Mallory`s goal three minutes from time.
New Mills remain win-less after Droylsden won 4-1 on their patch with goals from Brandon Zibaka from the spot after 16 minutes, James Hampson six minutes into the second half and then a Dominic Smith brace in the 64th and 68th minutes – Jack Pritchard replying 17 minutes from time.
Burscough beat Ossett Albion 2-0 at the Victoria Ground with goals from Will Jones after just five minutes and then Tolani Omotola right at the end of the game.
Albion's neighbours Town shared a 1-1 home draw with Kendal Town in which Danny Wilkins` goal on the hour for the Cumbrians was cancelled out by Cameron Lyn seven minutes later – but it saw the end for Ossett's boss John Reed after the game.
And Joe Whittington`s goal just after the hour-marked sealed Lancaster City`s 1-0 verdict at Wincham Park against Witton Albion.
