Whitby Town's Ashley Corker has swapped the North Yorkshire coast and the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League for the west of Australia, writes Andrew Snaith
The former Middlesbrough junior headed down under this week to join up with Perth Soccer Club after scoring twice in 12 starts for the Seasiders.
Corker signed for the Evo-Stik NPL Premier Division club last October following his release from League Two Northampton Town. Perth SC are currently mid-table in Western Australia's highest tier - the All Flags State League Premier Division.
Blues player-boss Darren Williams reckons it was the right move for the 22-year-old and said he wished him well on an adventure that would be hard to turn down.
He said: "It was something he had to do for his own mind. Good luck to him. We haven't fallen out over anything and had a good discussion before he went. It's a decision that had to be made and had to be done."
