Evo-Stik NPL Club of the Month Awards

FC United of Manchester, Mickleover Sports and Curzon Ashton are all looking forward to picking up a second Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Club of the Month Award of the campaign.

The trio were named on Sunday as the winners of the joint February and March honours, amalgamated after February’s fixtures were badly hit by the weather. All three clubs are challenging at top ends of their respective tables and as a result of their outstanding form and performances over the period, will collect the campaign's penultimate monthly accolades.

Like all winners, each club will be presented with an inscribed certificate and a 4.5 litre bottle of Bells Whiskey from representatives of the Evo-Stik NPL and the title sponsors at fixtures next week.

Premier Division leaders FC United of Manchester will lead the way on Tuesday night before hosting Grantham Town, League Operation Manager Alan Allcock and a representative from the sponsors making the presentation at Stalybridge Celtic’s Bowers Fold.

The Rebels kicked off the campaign by collecting August’s award and Karl Marginson’s men will be honoured for the second time for their run of 11 wins out of 11 in the league since the start of February.

First Division North Curzon Ashton were also honoured for the first time this season back in August and will be challenging for the title this coming Saturday when the Evo-Stik NPL’s Respect Manager Phil Bradley makes the presentation before kick off against Prescot Cables at the Tameside Stadium.

The Nash lead the table by 11 points and by any reckoning have been the division’s form team and are deserved winners after recording key victories over title rivals Warrington Town, Farsley FC and Darlington among a run of ten wins and one draw under manager John Flanagan.

Time and games may be running out for Mickleover Sports and their manager Glenn Kirkwood to mount a serious title challenge at the Raygar Stadium but they are now only seven points behind leaders Halesowen Town in fourth spot in First Division South thanks to an undefeated run of six wins and two draws.

Their latest result was Saturday’s impressive 5-1 away win at Sheffield FC and after winning the accolade back in September, the Sports will also be honoured next Saturday, League Representative John Beaumont and a representative from the sponsors making the presentation before they kick off against the Yeltz.
